A pair of Pittsburgh stations will present “A Concert for Unity” to benefit the rebuilding of Tree of Life – Or L’Simcha Congregation in the Steel City. The synagogue was the scene of a shooting that claimed 11 lives and resulted in several injuries on October 27. The stations — 100.7 STAR (WBZZ-FM) and Y108 (WDSY-FM) — will broadcast the benefit live and feature musical performances by Dan + Shay, FRZY, and The Andy Davis Band on Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. ET at Pittsburgh’s Byham Theater.

“Pittsburgh suffered an unfathomable tragedy and our community has come together to support our neighbors in their time of need,” said Michael Spacciapolli, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Pittsburgh. “Through the generosity of local Pittsburgh artists and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, A Concert for Unity will directly support the rebuilding of Tree of Life.”

“On behalf of our entire congregation, I wish to thank all who are involved in this amazing effort to support the rebuilding of our synagogue,” said Samuel K. Schachner, Ph.D., President, Tree of Life – Or L’Simcha Congregation. “We are so appreciative of this Concert for Unity for Tree of Life’s benefit, just as we are humbled by this incredible show of support from all who are involved. This proves that love truly is stronger than hate.”

Full ticket face value will benefit the rebuilding and reopening of Tree of Life – Or L’Simcha Congregation in Pittsburgh.
