The team at the Radio Mercury Awards announced that Chris Beresford-Hill, Chief Creative Officer at TBWA\Chiat\Day NY, will be the 2019 Chief Judge for the 28th Annual Radio Mercury Awards Competition. Prior to TBWA, Beresford-Hill served as Executive Creative Director at fellow Omnicom shop BBDO where he steered some of BBDO’s best work in recent years, for clients such as Guinness, Priceline.com, HBO, FedEx, and Foot Locker.

“The Radio Mercury Awards are near and dear to my heart. It was the first creative award I won, and I’ve essentially ‘grown up’ with this show, and the leadership, and wonderful crew behind it,” noted Beresford-Hill. “Radio needs our very best, as creatives. Targeting? What’s better than radio? Creative freedom? It’s theater of the mind, where anything is possible. The audience can’t fast-forward radio spots. So make them great. I’m looking forward to finding this year’s best!”

“We are so fortunate to have Chris Beresford-Hill on board as our chief judge this year,” noted Erica Farber, president and CEO, Radio Advertising Bureau and chair of the Radio Creative Fund. “He has been an integral part of our judging process over the years, we have watched his journey through the advertising industry expand, and his love for creative copywriting and radio has never wavered.”

Award categories for the 2018 Radio Mercury Awards will be announced in December, along with Call for Entry guidelines and deadlines. For more information, log on to www.radiomercuryawards.com.
