Yale Broadcasting Company’s Urban Adult Contemporary WYBC-FM has launched a new local morning show hosted by New Haven radio veteran Juan Castillo. The Juan Castillo Morning Show will debut Monday September 10 and will replace the Tom Joyner Morning Show, which has been WYBC’s morning show for over 20 years. Joyner has announced he’ll retire in December 2019. Castillo is also WYBC’s Operations Manager.

Castillo said, “It’s been over two decades that an Urban Contemporary radio station has had a local morning show and the time is now. As much as I loved the Tom Joyner Morning Show the only negative was that there was not enough room for local content and to that end we will aim to super-serve the state of Connecticut and the New Haven region with great local content. I am excited to embark on this journey with our local listeners.”

WYBC is owned by Yale Broadcasting Company and operated through a local marketing agreement with Connoisseur Media.
