For the past seven years, iHeart has partnered with Macy’s to host the Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star music competition, which introduces fans to up-and-coming artists. Listeners vote for their favorite act, and the winner performs at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. For the first time, voice voting will be available to vote for the top five finalists. Beginning June 11, fans can cast their votes for the finalists using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. After they ask to “Talk to iHeart Rising Star,” users can hear the five finalists introduce themselves and listen to a clip from their song before voting. At the end, voters will enjoy Macy’s mstyle Radio on iHeartRadio, which features all of the finalists. The whole experience is “hosted” by James Maslow, the winner of last year’s competition.
