WJTL-FM host Phil Smith is facing multiple charges, including rape, after being arrested by the Lancaster City Police Department. Smith was arrested last week for sexual offenses committed between 2013-2017.
A police report says On April 26, a female victim went to the police station to file a report. She said Smith, raped her and committed other sexual offenses against her between 2013-2017 in a Lancaster County home. Smith was arrested and is facing 18 charges including rape — forcible compulsion, rape threat of forcible compulsion and unlawful contact with a minor.
Here is a statement from the radio station. “It is with great sadness that we need to report that Phil Smith was arrested Thursday Night. Phil has served for many years as a WJTL DJ, most recently on the 3pm-7pm shift. At this time we only know what we read in the press. Please join us in praying for all those involved and that truth and justice will prevail.”
Smith is in the Lancaster County Prison. Bail is $250,000.
