San Fran Stations Raise Big Money For Fire Victims

Cumulus’ San Francisco stations KFOG, KGO, KNBR, KSAN, KSFO, and KTCT have raised $500,000 for the Bay Area Fire Relief Fund, bringing much-needed relief to victims of the massive Northern California wildfires. The wildfires destroyed homes, displacing thousands of Northern Californians, and scorched areas including Sonoma, Napa, and Mendocino counties. The stations partnered with local businesses in mid-October for the two-week drive, where businesses matched up to $10,000 per day in cash donations raised from listeners.

The funds have been disbursed as follows: $150,000 to American Red Cross, Northern California Chapter; $150,000 to United Way Bay Area; and, $200,000 to Redwood Empire Food Bank.

Justin Wittmayer, Vice President/Market Manager, Cumulus Media-San Francisco, said, “So proud of what this team’s been able to do to raise awareness and donations for the North Bay fire victims. The text-to-donate line has helped us reach our goal of raising $500,000. We’d like to thank our incredible employees for leading the charge, our advertising partners who’ve so generously matched daily listener donations, and our truly giving and big-hearted listeners.”
