Joyner Working Hard For Hurricane Victims

0

Tom Joyner has been doing his bit for the folks hit by the recent hurricanes. The nationally syndicated radio host just distributed $50,000 to 50 Houston-area families affected by Hurricane Harvey. To date, Joyner has raised $500,000 for the BlackAmericaWeb.com Relief Fund supporting families, friends, and those in the community who have taken in people impacted by both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas), Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, and Carolyn Scantlebury, former Houston NAACP president, also participated in the distribution.

“Hurricane Harvey really hit Houston hard,” Joyner says. “We want to do what we can to assist these families in getting back on their feet.”
