Beverlee Brannigan (E.W. Scripps), RJ Curtis (All Access), Tom Baldrica (Midwest Communications), Becky Brenner (Consulting Partner, Albright & O’Malley & Brenner Consulting), and Bob Richards (Emmis Radio Indianapolis and WLHK/Indianapolis) will form the core panel of moderators at Country Radio Seminar 2018. Each of these moderators has appeared in that capacity at CRS before. The five core moderators will oversee and direct the seminar’s educational panels and discussions, which will be held Feb. 5-7 at Omni Nashville.
CRS Executive Director Bill Mayne said, “About seven years ago, it became apparent to us that the art of facilitating a live discussion between panelists and a live audience requires a totally different skill set than doing an interview with someone, or simply asking questions to a group of panelists. There is also a bit of ‘wizardry’ involved; a great moderator should actually appear to be invisible. They are not there to be the reigning authority on a subject, but one who directs the conversation and engagement with that live audience. Thus, evolved our ‘core moderators,’ high-functioning wizards who are relatively invisible to the group, but draw the absolute best from all engaged in the conversation. We are in debt to these wizards who give us their time and talents, for the benefit of all participants — we are thankful!”
