0

This Friday, July 7, marks the first anniversary of the ambush of Dallas police officers that left five officers dead and nine injured. The shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, was an Army veteran said to be upset about police shootings of black citizens. After a standoff, he was killed by police.

All seven stations in the Cumulus Dallas/Ft. Worth cluster will use the airwaves to encourage the community to wear blue on Friday to “Back the Blue.” The radio group has partnered with six participating Braum’s Ice Cream & Burger Restaurants in the area to offer a free small cup of coffee to First Responders with valid ID, from 7 a.m. CT until 9 a.m. CT.

More information can be found on each radio station’s website where you can also make a donation to the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation, a charity that helps support families of police officers killed or seriously injured in the line-of-duty
