In announcing the official name change Monday, CEO Alfred Liggins said, “More than 35 years ago, we proudly began representing Black culture by lifting our voices boldly, courageously and unapologetically. Urban One’s mission is to enhance and maintain our position as the largest distributor of urban content in the country.” Executives will discuss the name change during a press conference call Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
