Radio One Q1 Revenue Declines 7.1%

CEO Alfred Liggins said it was a tough quarter, to say the least. Net revenue was approximately $101.3 million, a decrease of 7.1% from Q1 2016. National revenue was off by 8.7% in the quarter, while local dropped 5.9%. All advertising categories were down, including Government (24%), Automotive (13.4%), and Healthcare (9.3%). Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Detroit, and Philadelphia were Radio One’s biggest underperforming markets.
