Alan Colmes, syndicated radio talk show host, and co-host and liberal half of the popular Fox political-debate show Hannity and Colmes, passed away Thursday morning. He was 66. He is survived by his wife, Jocelyn Elise Crowley.
Friend and “friendly adversary” Sean Hannity made the following statement:
The Fox family, Dr. Jocelyn Colmes, Monica Crowley and me personally have lost one of life’s most decent, kind and wonderful people you’d ever want to meet. When Alan and I started Hannity and Colmes, there wasn’t a day that went by where we didn’t’ say we were the two most fortunate men in all television. Despite major political differences, we forged a deep friendship. Alan, in the midst of great sickness and illness, showed the single greatest amount of courage I’ve ever seen. And through it all, he showed his incredible wit and humor that was Alan’s signature throughout his entire life. I’m truly heartbroken at the loss of a dear friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jocelyn, Monica and his entire family. He will be dearly missed.
A word from Deborah Parenti, Publisher, Radio Ink…
“I had the privilege to get to know Alan Colmes over the past few years. He appeared at our annual Forecast conference, was always there if I needed an introduction to potential speakers and moderated the Group Leadership panel one year. He was intelligent, gracious and a tremendous professional who was respected and admired by all who knew him across the industry. He will be missed.”
All of us at Radio Ink extend our sincere sympathies to Jocelyn and all of Alan’s loved ones.
The good die young and the world gets stuck with people like Hannity.
