An incredible 1.3 million pounds (over 683 tons) of non-perishable food items were collected during Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger this year. It’s the largest collection in the 19 years the event has been held.
The WMMR Philadelphia morning team lived in the parking lot of Xfinity Live! Philadelphia in South Philly for an entire week to encourage listeners to donate food. $74,000 in cash was also donated. As a result of the radio station event, 1.4 million meals will be provided to hungry individuals in the Delaware Valley.
