The well-respected and highly accomplished Kevin Weatherly is staying on with CBS Radio for several more years. A contract extension with CBS Radio was announced Tuesday that will keep Weatherly in his role as Senior Vice President of Programming, CBS RADIO, and Program Director of Los Angeles’ KROQ-FM, KAMP-FM, and KCBS-FM. He’s been part of the programming leadership team with CBS Radio and KROQ for almost 25 years.

Weatherly said, “I’m grateful to CBS RADIO for their support throughout the years and for letting me continue to do what I love doing. I couldn’t think of anywhere else I would rather be – there is no better job. I am very fortunate to be able to work alongside some of the best talent in the industry.”

“Kevin’s influence and impact on the content development of our company, and particularly our LA music stations, over the last 25 years is unmatched,” said Chris Oliviero, Executive Vice President, Programming. “We couldn’t be happier that he’ll continue on his journey with CBS RADIO as a key contributor to the ongoing evolution and growth of our programming platforms.”

Weatherly began his career at the age of 12 at KPIN in Casa Grande, Arizona. He worked as a disc jockey and Music Director at KZZP in Phoenix from 1983-87, later moving on to the Music Director role at KMEL in San Francisco, California in 1987. After that, he became Music Director at KIIS in Los Angeles in 1988, before heading to San Diego in 1989 to serve as Assistant Program Director, and later Program Director of Q106. In 1992, he arrived at KROQ and has been with the station ever since, expanding his role within the Los Angeles market and at the corporate level. He is consistently recognized as one of Radio’s top programmers by Radio Ink magazine.
