On Tuesday The Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group announced it had formed an alliance with Marketron to establish the “MIW Rising Star Award,” in honor and memory of Renée Roth, Marketron’s long-time VP of International Sales. The award will go to the top scoring scholarship recipient from the Rising Through the Ranks program. Beasley Tampa GSM Erika Beasley (pictured here) will take home the inaugural award.
Roth passed away on September 29, 2015 after a short battle with cancer.
“Renée Roth was a passionate advocate for educating, encouraging and mentoring women in Radio,” explained Marketron’s Chief Revenue Officer Deb Esayian. “She guided many careers and helped countless women advance in their roles, believing that the impossible was always possible. With this scholarship, Marketron celebrates Renée’s love of radio, her brilliant and remarkable career in the industry and her dedication to building a better tomorrow through conscientious efforts put forth today.”
