It was this week in 1996 that a new weekend program debuted for rock stations. hardDrive is celebrating its 20th anniversary on the air. The show’s original host and executive producer, Lou Brutus (pictured) and Roxy Myzal are still intact on the production team. hardDrive with Lou Brutus is a two-hour weekly long-form program that contains new rock music, artist interviews, news, and information on all things in the world of new rock music. It was developed 20 years ago by award-winning producer Roxy Myzal.
The show is designed for all rock radio formats, and the music on the program has evolved along with the ever-changing playlists of the show’s 118 affiliates. United Stations has been producing, distributing, and handling all sales and affiliate marketing efforts for the program since January 2001. The weekend program is produced and written by Myzal, engineered and assembled by Zak Tranese, and is hosted by Brutus. He’s been on the air at WMMR/Philadelphia, WHJY/Providence, WHFS/Washington, DC, and WRCX/Chicago.
