Doug Banks’ Replacement Announced

The Afternoon Rush with Rudy Rush, Ebony Steele, and Loni Swain will debut Monday from American Urban Radio Networks. The show officially replaces the Doug Banks Radio Show which AURN syndicated in the 3-7 p.m. slot. Banks passed away in April at the age of 57.

Rudy Rush is a comedian who has toured colleges and clubs, and was the youngest host of the longest-running African-American syndicated show, Showtime at the Apollo. Rush was part of the Doug Banks Radio Show. Ebony Steele is a former Miss Gulf Coast Alabama and Miss Tuskegee. Most recently she was a part of the Rickey Smiley morning show. Loni Swain most recently hosted middays at WGCI-FM Chicago. She began her career at WQUE-FM New Orleans followed by stints at WERQ-FM Baltimore and WFUN-FM St. Louis. In addition to being on air, Loni is also the show’s producer.
