Today NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith will participate on a panel for the White House’s “Making Health Care Better Series: Mental Health.” In 2013, NAB launched the “OK2Talk” mental health awareness PSA campaign to encourage greater dialogue about mental health issues, especially by families with children.
Radio and television stations donated more than $44 million in airtime to the campaign, driving nearly 700,000 people to OK2TALK.org to share their stories and get the help they need. The White House will livestream the full event from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at www.whitehouse.gov/live. Smith is expected to be part of the panel from 2:45 to 3:30.
Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert Alan McDonald will also be speaking at this event.
