The Texas Association of Broadcasters will honor five broadcast leaders at TAB’s Annual Awards Gala. The gala, part of the association’s 63rd Annual Convention & Trade Show, will take place Thursday, August 11, from 7-10 p.m. at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin Texas.
“Texas communities benefit daily from their local broadcasters’ dedication to informing and protecting their viewers and listeners while partnering with businesses small and large to propel the local economy,” said TAB President Oscar Rodriguez. “The broadcast leaders TAB honors this year have raised the bar for their peers and for all local business leaders who strive to better their communities and their state by taking calculated risks and forging strong partnerships to expand opportunities for all Texans.”
Radio honorees are: Bill Buchanan, KSHN-FM Liberty; Mike Wenglar, and KULP-AM El Campo. Also being honored are: John Kittleman, KRGV-TV Rio Grande Valley; Dan Giesler of Giesler Broadcasting Supply, Houston; and, Dr. Joe Oliver, Stephen F. Austin State University (retired).
