89.3 WFPL News has hired Ashlie Stevens as a full-time reporter to cover arts and culture in Louisville and across the state. Stevens is a Louisville-based journalist whose work has focused on art, food and drink, and urban preservation. A former WFPL intern and current contributor, she has also been published in The Atlantic, National Geographic, Slate, and The Guardian, among others. She started this week.

“Ashlie has a skill for finding unexpected angles, and her thoughtful reporting, analysis and criticism are great additions to WFPL,” said Stephen George, executive editor of Louisville Public Media. “And Tara is such a terrific journalist and interviewer — I can’t wait for her new project to debut.”
