BBC To Axe Radio And Television Divisions

The Telegraph is reporting that BBC Director-General Lord Hall will unveil what is being called the most far-reaching organizational overhaul in the BBC’s 93-year history. The Telegraph reports that Hall will give a speech before Easter in which he will propose to axe the corporation’s existing channel-based structures. While the broadcaster is committed to keeping its television and radio stations on the air, Hall is said to believe that the quickening pace of technological change means that the boundaries between media such as television, radio, and online are blurring.
