Davis to Oversee Western Great Lakes
Rich Davis is returning to the Twin Cities as Director of Contemporary Hit Music Stations for iHeart's Western Great Lakes Region, and as PD for KDWB and KTCZ in Minneapolis. Davis will oversee programming for WZEE FM in Madison, WRNW FM in Milwaukee and WBIZ FM in Eau Claire. He previously served as the Senior VP of Programming for iHeartMedia Seattle. Davis replaces JB Wilde.
Moore And Shockey Land New Roles In Seattle
Following the Davis announcement (see previous story) iHeartMedia announced Rich Moore (pictured) as its new Senior VP of Programming for Seattle. Moore will keep his role as PD at KJR-AM. In addition, Kevin Shockey has been named APD at KJR-AM.
New Syndicator For Stephan
Envision Networks is now syndicating Doug Stephan’s Good Day program. Stephan airs live every weekday from 4 to 10 a.m. EST and Saturdays 7 to 9 a.m. EST on over 200 stations. Stephan has been self syndicating for the past several years.
Hunter, Shore Take Afternoons in Detroit
Greater Media makes the announcement that former Detroit Piston Lindsey Hunter (right) and PD Dave Shore have been named as the new afternoon drive team on Detroit Sports 105.1FM. They replace Matt Dery and Drew Sharp. Hunter played in the NBA for 17 years. Shore joined the station as PD in March of 2015.
Wilde Takes Over Tuna Show
Jennifer Wilde who was a fill-in for Charlie Tuna on his syndicated program (and also announced his passing on the air) will officially take over the show, according to syndicator The Talent Farm.
Key On-Air Appointments At WEBE Connecticut
Cumulus Media announced that it has appointed Beth Foster as co-host of WEBE Wake Up Morning Show with Jay Michaels in Bridgeport, CT. Foster has previously been on-air for several stations in southern Connecticut. Concurrently, Cumulus Bridgeport announced that it has upped longtime WEBE swing shift talent Andy Madison to co-host/Traffic Reporter, afternoons on WEBE.
Power 96.1 Atlanta Launches New Morning Show
iHeartMedia's WWPW-FM will kick off Monday with a new morning show called PK and Riley. PK will join Power 96.1 from Houston. He was the founding member of the Playhouse morning show in Portland. Also, joining the show is former Playhouse member Denise.
Keola Lui-Kwan Returns To Honolulu
Ohana Broadcast Company has hired local boy Keola Lui-Kwan to host mornings on 102.7 Da Bomb (KDDB-FM). Kwan returns to Honolulu after 14 years in major markets.
CEO George Beasley Goes On Medical Leave
Beasley Broadcast Group CEO George Beasley is on a medical leave of absence, effective immediately, the company announced Friday. EVP/CFO Caroline Beasley will be interim CEO in George Beasley's absence; he continues as chairman of the board.
A New Deal and A New Job For Nickels
Cumulus owned MIX 107.3 in Washington DC has inked a new contract with midday personality Ashley Nickels. She also picks up the Music Director job with her new deal. Nickels joined the station in 2014, hosting nights, coming to DC from KDND in Sacramento
