iHeartMedia’s Central Texas Region has promoted Callie Hoch to Regional Digital Program Director and Travis Hill (pictured) to Director of Marketing and Promotions. The Central Texas Region includes Austin and San Antonio, and both positions will split their time between the cities.

In a letter to staff, Wednesday, ABC Radio VP and GM Steve Jones announced that veteran political reporter Ann Compton will be on convention duty this summer. Compton is being brought in to cover both the Democratic and Republican conventions. She has 41 years’ experience covering the White House.

Joe Soto will take over the slot previously occupied by the Doug Banks Show. Banks passed away in April at the age of 57. Soto, a 36-year veteran, is most familiar to Chicago listeners as host of The Real Show and Back in the Day on V103.

The name of the book is Naked DJ, and the author is former Z100 and K-ROCK DJ Jo Maeder. She says her new novel draws on her radio career both on and off the mike. “NAKED DJ is an uncensored all-access pass to one woman’s climb to the radio top. Then her troubles really begin. It’s also a great contemporary story. How far do you go for your job? And for love?”

Entercom Austin has named Dayne Damme as Marketing Director of four stations: AC KKMJ (MAJIC 95.5), Hot AC KAMX (MIX 94.7) Urban AC KKMJ-HD3 (96.3 RnB), and News Talk KJCE-AM (Talk Radio 1370). Prior to joining Entercom Austin, Damme worked with CBS Radio's KSFM/Sacramento and most recently as Marketing and Promotion Director for Entercom Sacramento.

The Albany-Times Union is reporting that sports-talker Rodger Wyland is leaving WOFX-AM in Albany, New York, where he's been for 15 years, jumping to the competition WTMM-FM. The paper says Wyland is expected to sign a long-term contract with Townsquare Media. His new show is expected to debut Tuesday, July 5, and will air from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Texas Association of Broadcasters will honor five broadcast leaders at TAB’s Annual Awards Gala. The gala, part of the association’s 63rd Annual Convention & Trade Show, will take place Thursday, August 11, from 7-10 p.m. at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in Austin Texas.

Star 94.1 FM (KMYI), San Diego, Best Variety, announced Monday that Shelley Wade has been named its new afternoon host, broadcasting weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m., and providing entertainment features and updates from 4 to 8 p.m., beginning May 31, 2016.

Best known for her roles in films like Basic Instinct and Casino, Stone also has an impressive track record in raising awareness and support for AIDS research, prevention, and treatment.
