When WQYK morning man Dave McKay didn't show up for work Thursday morning a co-worker went to check on him and found him dead. Police do not suspect foul play. McKay, whose real name is Steve Ehmke, had been with WQYK since 1992.

Charlotte’s Channel 96.1 announced Thursday that it has extended its agreement with The Ace & TJ Show for five years. The show airs weekdays from 6-10 a.m. The show has been with the station since January 2011.

The Radio Show is around the corner and Chairman and CEO of DTS Jon Kirchner has been announced as the guest who will appear in a conversation with NAB CEO Gordon Smith at the Radio luncheon, Wednesday, September 21. The duo will be discussing the future of the radio industry and its overall global and local impact. DTS purchased HD Radio in September of 2015 for $172 million.

Well-known Chicago radio personality "Ramblin" Ray Stevens will join John Howell on the WLS-AM morning show starting Monday. Stevens and Howell worked together for several years at Country outlet US99.5 in Chicago.

iHeartMedia's Mix 100.7 in Tampa and Alpha's G96.7 in Biloxi have added the newly syndicated morning show Brooke & Jubal to their weekday morning lineups.

Joining the WGN football team is former coach and Chicago Bears safety Doug Plank. He’ll be working as an analyst on The Download with Justin Kaufmann every Monday night beginning this August 8. The other NFL alumni contributors are Hall of Famer Dan Hampton, and former Chicago Bears Ed O’Bradovich and Glen Kozlowski.

Donna Ballard has over 30 years in sales in the Birmingham market and will join Cumulus on October 10 as an Account Executive. She moves over from SummitMedia in Birmingham, which now owns the former Cox stations in that market.

Tyler, who is currently the morning host at CBS RADIO’s WZMP-FM (96.5 AMP Radio) in Philadelphia, will take the 7 p.m. to Midnight shift at WBBM. A native of Rockford, IL, Tyler is a 15 year radio veteran. Prior to this role, he spent nine years as APD/MD and afternoon personality at KBKS Kiss-FM in Seattle, WA.

Scripps owned KFDI in Wichita has hired former WIRK West Palm Beach, morning show veteran Tim “Tiny” Burger as co-host for its morning show. Current KFDI personality JJ Hayes will co-host the morning show with Burger.
