Trudi to Traverse City

Black Diamond Broadcasting has hired Trudi Daniels to host mid-days on Rock 105 & 95.5 in Traverse City, MI. Daniels is no stranger to the rock genre, having been a familiar voice on Detroit rock stations for the past 25 years. Trudi was a part of the Drew & Mike Show on legendary rock station WRIF for nearly 22 years, and spent 3-years as the Morning Host on classic rocker -WCSX.

Former Cumulus Host Pleads Guilty

This goes back to a story we first reported in May about Amos Ayers. The 49-year old former host of Wild 102.9 in Reno was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulted an 18-year-old. He was accused of taking the 18 year old back to his office where he allegedly assaulted her. Ayers has plead guilty to the sexual assault charge and now faces one to six years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender.

Today’s 101.1 MORE-FM/WBEB Philadelphia has filled its vacant Afternoon Drive position with market veteran, Mark Shepperd. He replaces Logan, now doing Mornings at WINK-FM in Fort Myers. Shepperd’s career has also included WYXR, WIOQ, WIP, WXTU all in Philadelphia, WKXW Trenton and WLEV Allentown.

Kevin Fennessy Dies at Age 63

The well known broadcaster suffered a stroke last week and died over the weekend. He had been having heart issues as well. Fennessey worked at WCAO in Baltimore, WPEN and WFIL in Philadelphia, WMCA in New York City and WHAM in Rochester, New York among other stations.

Univision CEO Speaks Out Against Hate

Randy Falco circulated a statement to the press on Friday expressing his concern about the events taking place around the country. Falco said there is too much hate being spread in communities all across the country. "Sadly, these events did not happen in a bubble but are endemic of a broader disease of anti-immigrant, racist, homophobic, and religious intolerance that is spreading and threatening to divide our country."
