Parr’s Extends With Urban One
One of Urban One's first syndicated radio personalities will continue to keep listeners UP TO PARR. Reach Media has locked in a multi-year agreement for The Russ Parr Morning Show. The show is heard in Washington DC, Atlanta, Cincinnati, and Fayetteville. Parr said, "I would do this job for free, but management insisted that they pay me so I relented.”
Dierks Bentley To Receive Humanitarian Award
The Country Radio Broadcasters have announced that the multi-platinum singer/songwriter (pictured) will receive the CRS 2018 Artist Humanitarian Award, presented by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. In addition, Dan Halyburton, owner of Falls Media Group, will receive the CRS 2018 Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award.
Chicago’s New 93.9 LITE FM And The Return Of Delilah
Delilah’s nationally syndicated show has returned to the Windy City station in the Monday through Friday, 7-11 p.m. ET timeslot. Often referred to as the “Oprah of Radio,” Delilah attracts millions of listeners on more than 150 radio stations nationwide, making her the most listened-to woman on radio in the U.S.
Cataldi Staying With WIP In Philly
Angelo Cataldi has renewed his contract as morning host at Entercom's SportsRadio 94WIP in Philadelphia. He's been hosting mornings on the station for 27 years and has been near the top of Radio Ink's Best Local Sports Talkers in America list since it was created six years ago. Osgood Celebrates 50 Years With New Deal
2017 marks the 50th anniversary of The Osgood File, hosted by esteemed broadcast journalist and radio icon Charles Osgood. Fresh off receiving a Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Osgood saluted the milestone by signing an extension to continue broadcasting The Osgood File.
John Reid “Going Home” To Richmond’s WRVA
Reid, a Richmond native, will be the new morning show host of News Radio 1140 WRVA, on air weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. EST, and featuring local on-air and nationally syndicated personalities dedicated to the Richmond community.
The Woody Show Takes Des Moines
iHeartMedia Des Moines announced today the debut of The Woody Show, effective December 11 on ALT 106.3, "Des Moines’ Alternative Rock." The top-rated morning show will broadcast Monday through Saturday, 6-10 a.m. CT. In 2016, the program was a NAB Marconi Radio Award finalist for Major Market Personality of the Year.
D.L. Hughley Signs New Multi-Year Contract
Reach Media and Hughley announced a new deal for Hughley's nationally syndicated radio show. Hughley said he's happy to continue with Reach. “I'm excited that my radio show continues to grow on a national basis, but the honesty and interaction with my audience make it the biggest local and personal show in radio." The length of the deal was not disclosed.
Toulas To Run Tampa For Beasley
On Monday, Beasley Media Group unveiled George Toulas as its new Market Manager in Tampa replacing Kent Dunn who moved back to Augusta to run the Beasley cluster in that market. Beasley owns six stations in Tampa, including WHFS-AM 1010, WPBB-FM 98.7, WLLD-FM 94.1, WQYK-FM 99.5, WRBQ-FM 104.7, and WYUU-FM 92.5.
iHeart Reels In Preston
Mike Preston has been named Senior VP of Programming for iHeart in Baltimore. He will also program WPOC-FM (Country) and JACK-FM (Hits). Preston most recently spent time as PD of KKWF and KHTP in Seattle. Early in his career he was the APD at ABC Radio’s WPLJ in New York.
