Former Houston broadcast personality Dayna Steele has won the Texas 36th Congressional District Democratic Primary, garnering an impressive 72% of the votes cast. The successful businesswoman, best-selling author, speaker, and former KLOL-FM announcer will now face a Republican incumbent in the fall elections.

Johnson will be primarily involved in creating national digital content for Alpha’s Rock formats and will be a major contributor to streaming and podcasting strategies.

Entercom has partnered with Westwood One to bring the syndicated eSports show Checkpoint Radio, to 1080 The Fan (KFXX-AM) in Portland, Oregon. The weekly program, hosted by gaming industry experts Nate Bender, Robbie Landis, Norris Howard, and Joe Sloan, highlights the biggest stories influencing the video game and eSports industry.

Northeast Digital & Wireless owned WNCS in Burlington has appointed John Mullett as PD of The Point Radio network (WNCS, WRJT, WDOT, WIFY). Mullett most recently served as Music Director for Beasley's Alternative WBOS in Boston.

Jeff Kurkjian has been named the new weekday morning host (6-10 a.m.) on 102.7 The Coyote in Las Vegas. He will be joined by Aimee Montgomery, who will shift from her current role as midday personality on Lite 101.5FM/Las Vegas.

Chad Patterson has been honored as Grayling’s Citizen of the Year 2017 by the Grayling Regional Chamber of Commerce. Patterson is finishing his first season calling Grayling football and basketball games heard on Blarney Stone Broadcasting's Q100.3 (WQON-FM).

Nate Bell has been named Program Director of 97.9 WJLB, “Detroit’s Hip-Hop & R&B,” and Mix 92.3, “Detroit’s R&B and Throwbacks.” As PD, Bell will be responsible for day-to-day programming oversight of 97.9 WJLB and Mix 92.3.

Brooke Morrison has been named Afternoon Personality for Channel 96.1, “#1 For All The Hits In Charlotte,” effective March 26, and broadcasting weekdays 2 to 7 p.m. Morrison will play a variety of Top 40 music from artists such as Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, The Chainsmokers, and Bruno Mars.

Joe Pags, host of the popular nationally syndicated radio show, The Joe Pags Show, will join iHeartMedia Boston’s WRKO-AM 680, “The Voice of Boston,” for weeknights, beginning Monday, March 5.

Dick Broadcasting, Myrtle Beach, has named Charlie Steele Operations Manager for WYAV-FM, WRNN-FM, WYMB-FM, WKZQ-FM, and WRNN-FM. Steele was previously PD for heritage Classic Rock station WQMF and Active Rock station WTFX in Louisville.
