Wisconsin sports talker Bill Michaels was hit by lightning last Thursday in Eau Claire while hosting his show from a golf club. Michaels told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel he was sitting at a metal-mesh table when he was hit.

Beasley has promoted Pete Forester to Director of Sales at WMGQ-FM and WCTC-AM in New Jersey. Over the past fourteen years, Pete has served as the National Sales Manager for the company’s New Jersey-based radio properties.

Cumulus Nashville is bringing Clay Travis back to WGFX/104.5 The Zone in Nashville to cover pre-mornings 5A-6A. Travis got his start in radio as co-host of the popular 3HL on WGFX in 2010. The program will lead into The Wake Up Zone, which airs weekdays from 6A-10A. 

WRRM-FM/WARM 98.5 will be waking up Cincinnati listeners in a new way starting Monday when "The WARM Morning Show with Jim and Amanda” debuts. The program features Co-Hosts Jim Day, top-rated WRRM personality and morning show producer, and Amanda Orlando, who joins WARM 98.5 from sister station WNNF-FM/NASH FM 94.1 in Cincinnati, where she was Midday Host and APD. 

Geoff Moyer is now the General Sales Manager for Alpha Media Portland’s talk stations: FM News 101.1 (KXL), 102.9/750 The Game (KXTG), Freedom 970 (KUFO), and the 22-station Radio Northwest Network. Moyer has been with Alpha Portland since 2016 as LSM for KXTG and KUFO. Prior to Alpha, Moyer was an AE for Comcast Spotlight and Fox affiliate KPTV.

Sam Nein spent the last seven years as the Tampa Area President for iHeartMedia prior to his exit in January. On Thursday Nein announced he's accepted a position as the President of Maus Media Group and President of Power Play Media. Maus and Power Play are advertising consulting firms.

Beginning Monday, August 27, Alpha Media Portland’s WE 96.3 (KWEE) will air the Dana Cortez Show from 6 until 10 a.m. Cortez will lead the new morning program making her one of radio’s first Latinas to host a morning drive program.

Veteran broadcast host Patrick Johnson will return to his roots, August 25, as the lead local host on 94.3 The Game in Greenville. Johnson started his career in Greenville as an East Carolina University student and since has had an impressive career in radio.

Wendy Williams will receive the NAB Show New York Impact Award on Thursday, October 18, during the 2018 NAB Show New York. The NAB Show New York Impact Award honors the most innovative leaders in media and entertainment for their impact and influence on the overall industry, as well as in the city of New York.
