Mitch Dolan (pictured) is the new Chief Operating Officer for Great Lakes Media. Dolan, most recently served as COO of Radio & Outdoor for Times-Shamrock Communications. He's also been President of the ABC Radio Station Group and GM at WPLJ-FM in New York City.
Dumas Says Goodbye to Fans
After 27 years on the air Bob Dumas was let go by G105 in Raleigh this week. He posted a video on Facebook Wednesday which has nearly 1,000 listener comments so far. He thanked the station, listeners and told his Facebook followers that they have not seen the last of him.
Mastel Moving To Charleston
You may recall that Cumulus Charleston Market Manager Sherry Dollar passed away in July after battling breast cancer. Eric Mastel is moving from his Market Manager position in Savannah, to Charleston, to take over that cluster which has five stations.
South To Run Savannah For Cumulus
Twenty-five-year broadcasting executive Gigi South is the new Market Manager for the Cumulus cluster in Savannah. South replaces Eric Mastel, who heads to Cumulus Charleston as Market Manager.
Former TV LSM Joins Townsquare
Townsquare has hired Troy Clingerman as Market President and Chief Revenue Officer for its Wichita Falls, Texas, cluster. Prior to joining Townsquare, Clingerman was LSM for Tegna (KYTX-TV) in Tyler. He also worked in digital sales management for E.W. Scripps in Tulsa.
Dakin Gets VP Stripes
Keith Dakin, who has been Regional Operations Manager for Connoisseur, Connecticut, has been promoted to the new corporate level position of VP, Programming for the company.
WPGC Gets New PD
Jay Hicks has been appointed Program Director for Entercom’s Rhythmic Hits station WPGC 95.5 FM (WPGC-FM) in Washington, DC. Hicks joins Entercom from Buffalo where he served as Brand Manager for WBLK-FM and WBUF-FM.
WXTU Is Taking It To The Maxx
Charlie Maxx has been named the new nighttime personality, 7p.m.-12midnight, on WXTU-FM in Philadelphia. Maxx most recently served on the prep+ affiliate relations team at ReelWorld and worked weekends on the air at WXTU.
Kelso Moving Up Fast
Hubbard Radio Chicago has added Rachel Kelso to 97-1 FM, to assume the newly created role of Associate Producer with The Sherman & Tingle Show. Kelso graduated college in 2018.
Pacific Gets a New GM
Pacific Media Group has promoted Sherri Hamamura Grimes to Vice President and General Manager of its Maui Radio Operations. Grimes replaces Pamela Tsutsui who retired in 2018. Grimes most recently served as the company's director of promotions.
