Two New Digital Hires At iHeartRadio
Chris Peterson has been named Senior VP of Podcasting for iHeartRadio and Beth Murphy joins iHeartRadio as the Senior VP of Marketing. Previously, Peterson served as the Content Partnerships Manager for TuneIn. He has also worked as the Director of Operations for The Blaze and as Director of Affiliate Relations for Premiere. Murphy was the CMO at Deezer as well as the CMO at Stitcher.
Here Comes Bon Jovi Radio… And Miami!
The Jersey rockers are the latest act to get their own channel on SiriusXM. The limited-run channel will be dedicated to the band's music and will culminate with a private performance by Bon Jovi at a secret location in Miami on December 3.
NPR Hires GM For Podcasting
In a continued sign that Podcasting is growing and NPR takes the medium very seriously, Neal Carruth has been hired as the organizations first General Manager for Podcasting. Poynter reports the supervising senior editor for NPR's business desk will oversee "Planet Money," "Embedded," "Hidden Brain," "Code Switch," "Pop Culture Happy Hour" and NPR's Politics podcast.
ABC News Radio To Publish Daily Political Podcast
The “Powerhouse Politics” Podcast will be publish daily through Election Day, keeping listeners informed about the latest poll numbers and developments on the campaign trail. It will be hosted by ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl and ABC News Political Director Rick Klein.
McDowell To Voice Series on PodcastOne
Actor Malcolm McDowell has signed on to voice a new suspense series on PodcastOne. He'll take on roles written by writers, including Max Allan Collins (“Road to Perdition”) and featuring celebrity guest stars.

Jess Wright takes on the newly created role of Country Music Format Captain at Slacker. She will oversee all things country from her home office in Nashville.

CBS Radio and Simon & Schuster have launched a new podcast called “The Paper Donkey Podcast” on the play.it network. The 45-minute podcast is a conversation between writers and editors about their work and will be posted every other Wednesday. It's the second podcast created by CBS Radio and Simon & Schuster.
Triton Digital: Sports Sees Biggest Increase
Triton Digital released its ranker for August 2016 and the company says, when compared to July 2016, the Sports format showed the largest listening gain with a 12.9 percent increase in Average Active Sessions, followed by Adult Contemporary (12.7%), Country (10.5%), Classic Rock (9.9%), and Top 40 (CHR) (7.6%). Pastor Rick Warren’s daily half-hour show Daily Hope can be now heard on iHeartRadio. The show, which debuted in 2013, centers around a lifetime of scriptural teaching by Warren.
