Alpha Signs Big Deal With Futuri
It's a wide-ranging deal for Futuri with Larry Wilson's company. All Alpha Media stations will have access to Futuri's podcasting system POST, which turns broadcasts into PPM-encoded on-demand audio, complete with fully licensed images, and distributes them on multiple platforms.
Infinite Dial Expands To Canada
Triton Digital and Edison Research announced on Tuesday that the two companies are expanding their digital media study of consumer adoption, The Infinite Dial, to Canada. The new study, much like the American version, will examine the digital media consumption habits of Canadians, including time spent with digital audio, podcasts, smart speakers, social media, video, and mobile.
SiriusXM Enhances Dashboard Product
The company is calling 360L "SiriusXM's next generation of in-car audio entertainment." The new platform will include products for subscribers via both satellite and streaming. 360L includes all 200-plus channels, and allows users to experience more personalized content.
Meyer Extends With SiriusXM
On Thursday, SiriusXM announced a new agreement with CEO James Meyer. The deal will pay him $2 million per year and run through the end of this year. Meyer will also be eligible for a bonus if the company achieves certain performance goals. And he'll get a 3-year $6.6 million consulting deal with the company if he's fired. Here's more on that...
New Katie Nolan Podcast Launched
The new weekly podcast from ESPN Audio is called Sports? with Katie Nolan. Nolan joined ESPN last October and appears across multiple ESPN platforms. She is a regular host of SportsCenter on Snapchat, and recently co-hosted a live Twitter show prior to the Titans vs. Chiefs NFL Wild Card game. She also contributed to the MegaCast for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Barstool Radio Channel Set To Launch On SiriusXM
It's a new 24/7 channel for Barstool Radio on SiriusXM and it rolls out next Wednesday. The channel will feature a full schedule of live original Barstool programming every weekday, plus select content from Barstool's lineup of podcasts, including Pardon My Take, Laces Out, KFC Radio, I Am Rapaport, and others.
SiriusXM Launches Show On Prison Reform & New Beginnings
SiriusXM is expanding into the domain of social justice, announcing Thursday the launch of Last Mile, Second Chances, a new show about formerly incarcerated women moving back into society and how communities can help in the transition. The show airs on SiriusXM's Urban View channel 126 at 9:00 a.m. ET.
Huppe Extends With SoundExhange
The SoundExchange Board announced Wednesday that President and CEO Michael Huppe will continue to lead the company through 2021. Huppe took over at SoundExchange in 2011.
