93.1 Katy Country (KMKT) partnered with Classic of Texoma car dealership to raise $30,000 for law enforcement agencies with Back the Badge golf tournament. Funds raised came from sponsor donations and community members who competed in the tournament. Additional money was raised through a ball drop where golf balls were dropped from a helicopter onto the green and the ball landing closest to the hole won. Money raised will be equally split between Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Sherman Texas Police Department, and Denison Texas Police Department.
Zac Grantham, Katy Country morning show personality, commented on the announcement, “I was surprised at the amount we raised. It is great to see the community so involved. We definitely have to do this more often.”
