News Talk 550 KTSA and FM 107.1, along with their Connoisseur Media sister stations in San Antonio, raised $155,425 during the 19th Annual KTSA Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner Radiothon. The funds benefit the Raul Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner.
Restaurateur Raul Jimenez founded the dinner 47 years ago, when it served a few hundred guests. It now welcomes more than 25,000 people in downtown San Antonio each Thanksgiving, including elderly residents, veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and others in need of a meal, companionship, and community. The dinner relies entirely on donations and volunteers to prepare and serve thousands of holiday meals each year.
His daughter, Patricia Jimenez, serves as the dinner’s president.
She said, “The support from News Talk 550 KTSA and its sister stations is a true blessing. They’re more than partners, they’re family. Thanks to them and their amazing listeners, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised to ensure no one in need goes hungry on Thanksgiving Day. KTSA is both the giver and the gift!”
KTSA host Trey Ware said, “It’s such an honor to lead the KTSA Radiothon for the Jimenez Thanksgiving Dinner. I love giving back to the community that has given so much to my family for 70 years.”
Connoisseur Media San Antonio Operations Manager Greg Martin said, “This radiothon is a reminder of what makes San Antonio such a special community. For 19 years, our listeners, advertisers, and staff have come together to make sure our neighbors have a place at the Thanksgiving table. Raising more than $155,000 is an incredible accomplishment, but what means the most is knowing that thousands of people will share a warm meal and feel the generosity of a community that cares. We’re proud to play a part in keeping this wonderful tradition alive.”
