Cox Media Group’s KISS 104.1 (WALR) in Atlanta teamed up with community partners for the 3rd Annual “Shoesday” Giveaway, where morning personalities Toni & Tony helped give out $150 gift cards to a local shoe store to 200 families just in time for back-to-school season.
Before dawn on Tuesday, a line of families had formed around the Sole Play building, where parents were able to use the gift cards straight away. Attendees also received a free meal, courtesy of Witherite Law Group.
WALR Director of Branding and Programming Michael Saunders stated, “At KISS 104.1, we’re more than a radio station; we’re family. Family makes sure our children have the confidence to take every step in a fresh pair of kicks.”
Event sponsor and Witherite Law Group Founder Amy Witherite said, “We started this event with an understanding that the need for school supplies goes well beyond pencils, pens, and paper. One of the most important things we can equip students with is a boost in confidence, and a decent pair of shoes can do wonders for a child’s self-esteem.”
