Fresno’s NewsTalk 580/105.9 (KMJ-AM/FM) raised $428,492 for the Central California Food Bank during the station’s day-long 2026 Feeding Families Fund Drive, a total that equates to more than 1.7 million meals for California’s San Joaquin Valley families.
KMJ listeners donated nearly $300,000 during the September 18 broadcast. Fresno Madera Farm Credit/CoBank added $30,000, and Gar Inc. contributed $100,000.
Central California Food Bank Director of Development Chanel Ruiz-Mendez said, “We are so grateful. Prices are up, and it’s hard to make ends meet for hard-working families today. Thanks to this effort, they can come in and get a couple of weeks’ worth of food, fresh produce, nutritious food that’s going to make all the difference.”
Cumulus Fresno VP and Market Manager Patty Hixson commented, “Our community overwhelms me with its graciousness, and we are most grateful to the Gar team, who step up every year to assist us in continuing to care for our neighbors in need. It is such a blessing to have these incredible partners!”
Gar Inc. CEO Karen Musson remarked, “A huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone that joined us at The Market and to our sponsors: Fresno Madera Farm Credit, CoBank, KMJ, and The Market. It was wonderful to see so many supporters share their generosity and give hope to our valley families.”
