Rochelle, IL, listeners spent more than four decades hearing Rick Green read local commercials and host the weekly Trading Post. Rochelle Broadcasting Company’s SuperHits 93.5 (WRHL-AM) and 102.3 The Coyote (WYOT) are mourning the personality.
Green, born Rick J. Greenwald, grew up on a farm in Chana, IL. After graduating, Green made Rochelle his home and began his career at WRHL, where he worked for more than 40 years.
Rochelle Broadcasting Company owns both stations, which are licensed to Rochelle. SuperHits 93.5 airs a Classic Hits format and 102.3 The Coyote airs Country. In a note to Radio Ink, News Director Charles Van Horn described Green as a friend and co-worker of many years and linked to a tribute on the SuperHits website.
