Jonesboro Media Group has filled its Program Director chair at 104.9 The Fox (KDXY) with a well-traveled radio programmer from the Midwest. Jon “J.D. Justice” Belsaas, joined the Saga Communications country station as afternoon personality and PD.
Justice arrives from Battle Creek, MI, where he worked for Midwest Communications. His radio career has included additional stops in Minneapolis, Des Moines, the Quad Cities, and Kalamazoo.
Justice previously worked with Saga Communications in Des Moines and said that connection, along with a desire to work for a Southern radio company focused on local programming, drew him to Jonesboro.
Saga Jonesboro Director of Content Mitch Mahan, who recruited Justice to the station, said, “When searching for someone to bring into the JMG family, I wanted a leader our team could believe in as much as I do. I needed a programmer who would challenge me to be better, stay open to learning together, and routinely leave me thinking, ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ J.D. is that person. He’s a top-notch air talent and a seasoned programmer with a proven track record of operating at the highest level. I truly believe he’ll make Jonesboro his home and JMG his long-term radio home. I’m ready, he’s ready, and Jonesboro is ready for Justice.”
Saga Jonesboro President and General Manager Trey Stafford said, “This has been an exhaustive search to find the absolute right person to lead The Fox. JD was one of several candidates who came to Jonesboro to talk about this position. It was clear that he is the right leader. JD will make all of us better and will be a great addition to our Jonesboro and Fox Country community.”
