The Dallas Mavericks and Audacy have aligned for a multi-year partnership, designating 105.3 The Fan (KRLD) as the franchise’s flagship frequency and earmarking Chuck Cooperstein’s return for his 22nd year as the radio voice of the Mavs.
Former Mavs Director of Basketball Development Brian Dameris will remain color analyst.
Arriving alongside the new partnership is a new programming slate, which includes Mavs Insider Access and Mavs Basketball Hour, covering weekly interviews with key Mavs personnel and conversations about this season’s roster. Meanwhile, Mavs Beyond the Court will explore the Mavericks’ business, community, and cultural impact across North Texas every week.
The Texas State Network will handle distribution in outer markets.
Dallas Mavericks Chief Communications Officer Gina Miller said, “105.3 The Fan has built tremendous equity in the market with sports fans across North Texas, and we’re excited to bring the Dallas Mavericks to the Audacy family. This partnership is about giving Mavs fans more ways to connect with the team, from game broadcasts to weekly programming, while significantly expanding our reach across Texas. Plainly put, we want to give our fans more Mavs content, wherever they are.”
Audacy Dallas VP of News/Talk/Sports Gavin Spittle added, “This partnership is an amazing addition to everything we’ve built for our listeners. At The Fan, we can’t wait to keep expanding our multi-platform experience to deliver the best content to sports fans. Serving as the proud, 100,000-watt home of the Dallas Mavericks is something we are truly excited about.”
