WNYC has added four new members to its New York City newsroom. Ave Carrillo, Josefa Velasquez, Reece T. Williams, and Arya Sundaram all have journalism and content creation experience.
Ave Carrillo will be Executive Producer of local podcasts, focusing on the newsroom’s audio storytelling capacity. Josefa Velasquez will join as Economics & Equity Editor.
Reece T. Williams joins as the newsrooms first-ever Visuals Editor. He was previously a multimedia producer and visual editor at Newsday.
Arya Sundaram comes on board as a Race and Justice Unit reporter. She recently completed the 2021-2022 New York Times fellowship as the inaugural investigative desk fellow.
