Stone Soup Returns To Motown

94.7 WCSX-FM in Detroit is bringing back a promotion it first ran 17 years ago to benefit a local charity. “Big Jim’s House Stone Soup Project” will rebuild a classic vehicle that will be raffled off to benefit ‘Vets Returning Home’.

WCSX will team up with sponsors and encourage listeners to share their ideas on how to rebuild a 1974 Ford Bronco, ranging on everything from deciding on the best paint to determining how big the tires should be.

“The Stone Soup Project is something unique to Detroit,” said show co-host Jim O’Brien, “Building cars is in our DNA in the Motor City, along with helping out local charities. To see men and women from across Southeastern Michigan come together to make this a reality is the definition of a true passion project!”

The event has been on hiatus for about five years, but previous Stone Soup Project events have raised more than $1.5 million over the years.
