Beasley Media’s AC Station WJBR-FM in Wilmington, DE raised $354,456 with their two day “Help Our Kids Radiothon” for the Nemours Alfred I. duPont Children’s Hospital.
WJBR Program Director Eric Johnson said despite dealing with COVID related issues, the total was the highest in the events 11 year history. Johnson called it a “total team effort” and added that it was amazing how listeners and clients came through for the kids.
Johnson added an interesting tidbit……. longtime competitors Michael Waite (retired Morning Man on WJBR) and Mike Rossi (former PD for DelMarva Broadcasting and now WJBR Mid-day host) joined forces to do the mid-day segment of the broadcast. Waite and Rossi agreed that after competing head to head for nearly 3 decades, it was great to be on the same team for such a great cause!
The Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children is a World Class Pediatric Hospital that has been serving the Wilmington area since 1940.
