The Hubbard all news station will need to construct a new building for its awards and trophies soon. The Washington, DC all-news station took home 3 first place Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association awards over the weekend.

“2020 was a tough year for journalists across the U.S. We are honored that our work was recognized by CAPBA,” said Julia Ziegler, WTOP’s Director of News and Programming. “These awards are truly a testament to the hard work of our team.”

WTOP took home honors for:
· Outstanding Website – WTOP.com
· Outstanding News Operation – WTOP
· Best Reporter – John Domen

Earlier this year, WTOP Reporter Monique Blyther was also recognized with a Best Social Video Telly Award for a video she produced during last year’s Black Lives Matter protests in DC.

In 2021 alone, WTOP has won 10 awards including the regional Edward R. Murrow awards for Overall Excellence and Website.
