The West Virginia Radio Corporation was part of a ‘Giving Tuesday’, May 5 effort to restock depleted food pantries throughout the state. Country Roads Statewide Food Drive raised more than $53,000.00 and 24 tons of food.

The donations were collected at various Kroger and United Way locations across the Mountain State. Along with the United Way the effort was spearheaded by Pickering Associates and Kroger that both made $10,000.00 donations.

The United Ways of West Virginia sat up 18 different locations across the state for people to drop of food and cash donations. Cash donations were also made online and through texting.

West Virginia Radio Corporation operates and/or controls a total of 32 radio stations across the state. “I knew it was going to be big, but, it was way bigger than I expected, just the generosity of everybody,” said Rachelle Beatty, West Virginia Radio Corporation Promotions Manager.
