Mix 106.5 (WWMX-FM) in Baltimore held its 31st annual radiothon for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center recently. The results were outstanding. $1.4 million was raised for the center, which is a member of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in Baltimore.

Entercom Market Manager Tracy Brandys said, “Caring for children’s health is one of our long-standing values and Mix 106.5 is proud to use its voice to champion on their behalf in Maryland. We are excited that our radiothon grows year after year to support the vital, life-saving mission of Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. We’re thankful for the generosity of our listeners and sponsors who helped raise a record-setting amount for Johns Hopkins and the kids.”

“Children who are coping with difficult illnesses often do not feel like normal children,” said Tina Cheng, M.D., M.P.H., Co-Director and Pediatrician-in-Chief, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. “Pediatric patients are going through lifesaving surgeries, chemotherapy, testing, and much more. This funding will help our providers and staff provide world-renowned pediatric care and also help our pediatric patients feel like children at a time and in a place where it is anything but normal.”
