Newberry Leaving NAB To Run Tech Company QUU

Steve Newberry currently serves as Executive VP for Industry Affairs and Strategic Planning at the National Association of Broadcasters, where he has been responsible for overseeing multiple NAB projects, including the organization’s outreach and initiatives with the automotive industry and construction of a new NAB headquarters in Washington, DC. Newberry will continue in his current role until March 31, 2020 to ensure a smooth transition and completion of the official opening of the NAB’s new headquarters. Newberry will also continues in his role as Chairman of Commonwealth Broadcasting.

QUU was founded by Joe Harb in 2007. The company’s technology enables radio stations to take full control of the RDS/HD in-car stereo display with the ability to monetize through ad augmentation and provide an enhanced listener experience.

“Steve Newberry has been a tremendous asset to NAB and the entire broadcast industry for decades,” said NAB President and CEO Gordon Smith. “While we hate to see him leave, we’re delighted Steve will be with us through the completion of our move to a new headquarters this Spring. We’re also pleased that Steve will be fulfilling his entrepreneurial passion with QUU, an auto dashboard initiative that uses technology to improve the listener experience and drive higher radio station revenue. On a personal level, I will miss Steve’s daily presence at NAB and will always be grateful for his friendship and many contributions to the success of broadcasting.”
