Big Smoothie is taking over afternoons on KROCK/Syracuse (100.9/106.5FM and Utica 94.9FM). He has been covering nights at the station. Prior to that, he held the afternoon shift on WAQX.
Rainman has been a DJ on KROCK for 20-plus years. He’ll stay involved with the station doing nights, in order to allow him to focus full-time on his new gig with ESPN Syracuse and Utica/Rome. Rainman will be doing The Sportszilla Show on ESPN Syracuse, afternoons 3 to 4 p.m., and ESPN Utica/Rome 5 to 6 p.m.
“With these two promotions, we get to improve both ESPN and KROCK. Rainman is getting to fulfill his longtime dream of doing sports talk full time, and Big Smoothie is fulfilling his goal to be back on the radio in afternoons full time,” said Galaxy CEO and President Ed Levine.
