Over 15 weekdays, between January 6 and 24, The Current will honor to its 15th anniversary with special programming. The station kicks off this countdown to its milestone anniversary on Monday.
Listeners can join in via The Current’s app, social media, live broadcast, or thecurrent.org.
Here is what’s in store:
Online: Each day will feature a different year’s Top 89 and studio sessions on thecurrent.org. Jay Gabler and Andrea Swensson will list the best concerts over the last 15 years.
App: The Current app will host a stream dedicated to The Current’s first 15 years and the top songs from that time.
On the air: You can catch a ranking of different Top 89 tunes from each year during The Morning Show Coffee Break. Jade and Mary will be naming their favorite session picks from the past 15 years, and Mark Wheat will host a daily Top 15 countdown of the top songs each year since 2005.
In the community: The Current will be celebrating this milestone with an anniversary party at First Avenue on Jan. 18. The lineup includes Black Pumas, The Bad Man, Seratones, MaLLy and 26 BATS!
