The Christmas music is over and iHeart has launched Variety Hits 102.5 The Lake on WMYI Greenville, S.C. The station was previously the AC-oriented My 102.5.
The playlist will cover four decades and feature songs from artists such as Billy Joel, Madonna, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Aerosmith, and Hall & Oates.
“We are extremely excited to bring a different sound to the upstate area,” said Bill McMartin, Area President for iHeartMedia Virginia-Carolina. “It’s very exciting to begin the new year with a brand new radio station.”
The change means WMYI won’t be in format competition with Entercom AC Magic 98.9 WSPA-FM, and positions it against SummitMedia’s 99.5 Jack-FM and Salem Media Classic Hits Earth-FM 103.3 WRTH/95.9 WLTE.
