Hubbard’s WDRV-FM Chicago’s Sherman & Tingle welcomed Chicago’s pet lovers to the fourth annual Operation: Santa Paws event this past Saturday where they collected over $26,000 in pet food, supplies, and cash.

The station teams up with Chicago’s Anti-Cruelty Society – a local organization helping thousands of pets and their humans every year through adoptions, veterinary programs, investigation and rescue, behavior support, education, and more – to collect food, new toys, and cash donations for those animals that do not have homes or families for the holidays.

The event included a full week of online donations and culminated in an all-day live broadcast/donation event at Jewel-Osco’s Schaumberg store. Hundreds of fans turned out to support the cause and donate carts full of pet supplies and cash, more than doubling last year’s $11,000 total.

Of the successful venture, The Sherman & Tingle Show commented, “We could not be more grateful to the Chicagoland community for the outpouring of generosity and support. In its fourth year, Operation: Santa Paws exceeded our collective expectations. The many homeless and less fortunate pets in our region will certainly have a happier Holiday Season – and a much more comfortable 2020. Our listeners are unmatched and we are frequently moved by their genuine kindness.”

Tracy Elliott, President and CEO of the Anti-Cruelty Society added, “The Anti-Cruelty Society is overwhelmed by the generosity of all those who donated as part of Operation: Santa Paws. We are proud to include them all in our community of caring. Thank you to The Drive and their listeners for the support to help us care for and protect Chicago’s homeless animals. The gifts and donations will help so many pets in need this holiday season.”
