KONO 101.1 morning radio legend Dave Rios will mark his retirement Friday, December 20, with a live broadcast and a pancake breakfast. Rios will host his final show at a San Antonio restaurant, raising money for a local charity.
Rios has been waking up San Antonio for 26 years on KONO. Before that he entertained on KXZL and KTSA.
“We thank Dave for twenty-six years of service and wish him all the best as he starts the next chapter in his life,” David Abel, VP/GM of Cox Media Group, told the San Antonio Express-News, adding, “He is truly one of the best in the broadcast business.”
